  • Another Exciting Book Fair Wraps

The Scholastic Book Fair was a resounding success, bringing the joy of reading to our Bobcats. We would like to thank everyone who helped transform the library into a snowy mountain retreat filled with books, laughter, and creativity - the perfect place to spot a yeti! Special highlights included yeti-themed decorations, read-alouds, contests and more. With your incredible support, the Book Fair raised funds to enrich the school’s library program. We are grateful for the Book Fair Committee and all our volunteers who served this week! See you in 2025 for our Spring Book Fair!
  • Holiday Magic at Berkeley Hall!

This week in Hodges, snowflakes accidentally landed in Los Angeles and discovered the joy and varied traditions of the BHS community in this year’s enchanting Sugar Plum performance. We extend our gratitude to Theater teacher Ms. Lang-Ree for her original script and direction, Mr. Fontaine for his musical direction, and the Primary teachers for their support in bringing the Sugar Plum production to life. Special thanks to Mr. Marc Lignier for the beautiful Los Angeles backdrop, Ms. Green for her stage props, and all the families who supported their children. To cap off the event, students enjoyed sugar plums gifts generously provided by the BHPA. Thank you to everyone who made this unique tradition possible!
  • A Camp Out to Remember!

This year’s Camp Out brought out the best of Berkeley Hall! More than 480 participants came together on our field for a community dinner and activities under the stars. 200 plus eager campers pitched tents or supported the school with 7 glamping tents. We all enjoyed the meal catered by Woody’s BBQ and Rodini Park, and the breakfast supplied by Sharky’s. Of course, nothing says Camp Out better than s’mores and glow sticks and there were plenty of those for kids of all ages to enjoy while the movie Kung Fu Panda 4 was a crowd-pleaser on the balmy September night. Another highlight of the event was the drinks truck that kept the hot chocolates, lattes, and smoothies flowing.

A massive thank you to Camp Out Committee for their vision and hard work:
    Aaron Parker – Chair
    Cathrine Georges
    Denis Lee
    Matt Magielnicki

Kudos also to the tireless volunteers and staff who helped make this a magical event. We also want to express deep gratitude to our sponsors. Click here to see the list.

  • High Schools Meet our Bobcats

Seventh and eighth grade students and their families connected with representatives of high schools right here on our campus at our annual High School Fair this week.

“This event is unique to our school and is held for BHS students only,” said Dr. Colmaire. “We bring together a variety of categories, including independent, Catholic, boarding, and single gender schools in our city and beyond.”

Among the participants were local schools such as Buckley, Campbell Hall, and Harvard Westlake, as well as others as far afield as Oaks Christian, Chadwick, Sierra Canyon, and Viewpoint. At this student-focused event, Bobcats talked with admissions directors on their lists and also considered new options. They also heard from alumni who returned to share about their experiences. This is part of the our ongoing high school placement process that includes the eighth grade High School Readiness course where students reflect on how to present themselves as candidates, and learn important skills ranging from decision-making to etiquette.
  • House Day Explained

On Friday afternoon we kicked off our House program with our first-ever Sorting Day. The event began with a ceremony in Hodges where 1st graders and new students were “sorted” into their houses. Students then enjoyed team-building activities for the rest of the afternoon. This popular BHS program is designed to provide connections across the grades and the community at large. We have four different houses named after our core values – Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Compassion. Students compete in different challenges throughout the course of the year in an effort to hoist the House trophy. The activities usually take place on a Friday afternoon. Please refer to the School Calendar for upcoming dates. Enjoy photos from the afternoon below.

Mr. Spencer, who leads the program as House Coordinator told the students, “Discover your core value and let it shine in your actions every day!”
